I spent a total of five hours chatting with the
Magic Jack live chat. I was asked the same questions by each different person. I asked if I could get my device replaced. Of course, this was not possible. I asked to have my service disconnected and a prorated portion of my service fee refunded. This was not possible. I got exactly what I paid for. I thought if the service was as bad as I had been told that I could buy a new one each month and still be less expensive that a monthly phone bill.
Magic Jack is a scam. It doesn't work well and the
customer service is worse.

There is no place to call to Magic Jack
no wonder people are upset with this product since you cannot call to no one responsible

I think the Magic Jack product is great and have used it for the past year, however my original module died but the service agent wouldn't believe that the unit was dead as the blue light still was on, but no service. Finally I got another customer support agent that asked if I would like to return it for a new one and I did, I recieved it today and plugged it in and it worked great, but somehow I registered it and they gave me a new number and I wanted to keep my existing number as I have it on my business cards and just purchased $150.00 in new cards. The agent was not very customer friendly and told me that was my problem. I won't be telling any more of my family and friends to buy magic jack!!!!!!!!!!!!

they did the same thing to me ... I reported them to the better business bureau/ Their ad says 30 day free trial but gave us only 17 days to return it IF we needed a refund. I have the E mails to prove it.

You pay for the service by the year. I don't think they would prorate you. If you can't return for a refund, then just sell it used on ebay. Used Jacks get good bidding and you'll sell yours in no time at all. Good luck.
